Pick my brain, it good
What can I say but, w00t!? Got a reply from one of the english schools in Japan concerning my teaching english. They wrote that despite my england good and my kotek besar I'll have to fill in a pre interview questionnaire. Uhm, actually they just said fill in this questionnaire. Anyone wants to read the empty questionnaire? I'm sure some of you are curious eh?

Ah back
Hey folks, I've been reading my older posts and i noticed i was a whole lot perkier. A little like norwegian nipples. But less blonde. Any how, this past two months or so I feel like i'm in some sort of rut. Like before, the same reason i quit. Which is funny cause I'm still in a rut( a little different and a little poorer). Long story short, i've been spending the past two months feelnig sorry for myself. I'm a very sympathetic guy you see. After all that sympathy and still not getting any help, I'm quite fed up. I almost feel I have to help myself. So here, I reckon I'll probably start blogging. Probably. Heh. Depending on the feng shui this time of year and if saturn is in alignment with your anus. To paraphrase

"Actually sow was a very warm, compassionate man who never stopped feeling sorry for himself"

that and "Get your paws off me you damned dirty ape!" :D

Stoned and happy
My elder brother bob will be leaving for australia in a couple of hours. I'm not unhappy reallly. We had some drinks a few hours back and that was good.Unfortunately he drank a little fast. Like you'd drink something that was tasty and didn't get you drunk. Wine however can be quite un-tasty and can get you drunk. Anyway he closed shop a little early. Me and my older brothe ahjee talked to him about integrating himself into the australian society. It's not like we spoke to aggravate him but the fact is he is an australian pr and if he can't accustom himself to australia then he's going to be unhappy in a big way. Like a chip on his shoulder.Hopefully he'll do something about it but at the rate his parents feed him propoganda we will be ahing the same conversation next year. It's just that he's socially depandant on my parents. He has no friends in australia :\.

A bottle or two of wine later me and ahjee were talking about drinking and how we had a tolerance. Now what I write should be something private but since it's my blog i'll write it because it's somethign I want to remember. It seems my paternal grandfather was a little of an alcoholic. So much so that my grandmother comitted suicide by drinking weedkiller. It's something I never really realised. I always thought it was because back then medicine was a little more iffy. :(. At a point during my early childhood my grandfather was shuffling back between kuala pilah and the klang valley. The children didn't really want to put him up but did. He'd stay at one of my aunt's or uncle's place and when he was back in kuala pilah he'd stay in a monastery. It seemed the wooden house that my dad came from was so dilapidated it couldn't be lived in. Anyway, it was my two aunts(malacca and ss3) that brought up the family. According to my brother, my malacca aunt was a really intelligent(top of the class, and beyond her siblings) child but was passed over because she was expected to marry out. *sad

Proof by the japanese government

Yay, got my JLPT results. It's a little like hitting the lottery but I passed. I now have proof from the Japanese goverment that I have a smaller Japanese vocabulary( < 800) than koko( > 1000) the signing gorilla. It's a better bet that the gorilla would have an easier time fitting in at a sushi bar ordering sashimi than me.

finally ...again...v 1.2
haha its been a while since i've done this, but what the hell. here's a question i've been thinking about for quite a while. if you had a tourist friend come visit Malaysia for a couple of days, where would you bring him/her/them? also assuming u have 32 hours (8 hours average sleep), and within the state (and adjacent state if count Wilayah and if you're from Selangor, vice versa), also also whenever u ask them questions like "where would you like to go, or what would you like to eat" , they're answers by default would be "anything man, (or gal) whatevers fine with me. which is a fair enough question since theres as much interesting sightseeing, touristy places in kl... as there are non-corrupted politicians.

Probably a very subjective topic for conversation as each individual has a different perception of the meaning "interesting". And same goes for the visitors themselves, however they're probably more of an exemption since most of the time, ppl who come willingly, are really quite willing to do anything. Anything that's 'generally' interesting that is. i mean, going cool shopping malls are reasonably good fun, or hanging out at cool cafe's, bars or clubs, or even maybe some avant-grade artsy fartsy convention displaying state-of-art self-inflatable sex dolls. However, i still think that sitting outside 7-11 is drinking beer and eating ramli burger is NOT interesting. neither is sitting in the 'padang' drinking beer and eating nuts. And bringing to dodgy cybercafes to play warcraft or cs is NOT cool. (although debatable depending on the visitors themselves.) Yes true enough, things like these are part of our 'cool' favourite pastimes which some of reminiscence for hours (sitting outside 7-11, or in the padang). However, imagining myself as a visitor, i'd get the impression that it'd be quite homosexual. or lame saying the least.

Gettin to the point, not trying to comfort myself by saying that i'd have all the ideas on what to do and the best places to go. I'm probably the worse tour guide there is around, and i'd probably get lost myself given the chance. i've recently had visitors from japan (one of them being my cousin) who had came to malaysia for a few days visit, and the timing wasn't the best (CNY first few days) where most of the shops and places were closed, if not almost empty. However, it was pretty cool too since they get to see what malaysians do during this festive time of the year, (asides drinking a lot and gambling like pirates) such a chinese new year cuisine, 'yee sang', tasty new year snacks and mahjong. :) also managed to crash into my neighbours house to watch the freakin longest and most unorganized lion-dance i've ever seen. to think that i almost fell asleep during the 45 minute ordeal is saying enough.

Although i didnt actually get 2 whole days, but if ever visitors would come again, these would probably be my main choices :-

day 1
1. Breakfeast at nirwana's Bangsar (or Raju's tho the service is sooo friggin fan-fuckin-tastic slow)
2. Sungai Wang! Pirated stuff arrrr matey!
3. low yat for tech-geeks alike (wow ! everything's so cheap in malaysia...peh. yea right.)
4. KLCC (for the twin towers obviously, not for the shopping complex)
5. Dinner ( it'd probably depends on how we feel after having banana leaf)
6. pasar malam, or chinatown, whichever possible.
7. yum cha session (obviously! :D)
day 2
1. chinese style breakfeast (like lil dim sum place or something, unless the visitors are from hong kong or china....then we're having nasi lemak!)
2. check out kl tower, or muzium negara or some other sight seeing shit place.
3. something recreational (like bowling, or a movie, or some shit like that)
4. Dinner! assuming we had simple road side jalan alor food or similar, i'd go for a proper restaurant dinner. like italianis or chillis or something heheh. or for the ang mor crowd, tandoori chicken naan ?)
5. chill out-i feel its important to do some proper sit-down chit-chatting while inviting some other friends along, while having drinks or desert or coffee or whatever.

if u've actually had the patience to read this far, u'd notice that i didn't include shopping malls (except sungai wang) as an agenda. Why? well, its totally up to you i guess..but for me, i just figured that malaysia being a third-world country and all, tourist would want to see third-world country sight-seeing stuff. not our largest shopping complex, or what how superiorly hot our underground car parks can get. from experience as well, the japanese have probably more hard malls with built in laser guns and shit. *shy. but of course, that's only my 2 cents worth opinion. Anyone interested in discussing this topic further? let's do this Starbucks sunday evening...hehe.
